Consistency: The Secret Sauce to Getting What You Want

Let’s be real for a sec—
You're probably a total rockstar at being consistent for other people.

You remember the vet appointments, the school lunches, the group texts for Mom's birthday dinner, and you never forget to water the plants (ok, almost never). But how consistent are you when it comes to showing up for you?

We spend so much energy making sure our kids eat their veggies and not too much screen time on rainy days… and then we end up eating scraps from their plates while scrolling on our phones until midnight. Sound familiar?

Here’s the truth:
Good health isn’t about being perfect. It’s about showing up for yourself. Again and again.

That’s where consistency comes in.
It’s not sexy. It’s not a 30-day detox or a shiny new supplement.
But it is the foundation of real wellness.

“Every action you take is a vote for the type of person you wish to become.”
James Clear, Atomic Habits

So how do we become the kind of person who is consistent with our health and wellness goals?

1. Get Clear on What You Want

You can’t aim for a goal if you don’t know what it is.
What does feeling good look like for you? More energy? Less brain fog? Stronger muscles? Clear skin? Write it down. Be specific.

2. Make a Realistic Plan

Set a small, doable goal. Like tiny tiny.
Something like: “I’m going to move my body for 10 minutes every weekday morning.” That’s it. Everything else is bonus points.

Why small? Because small goals are achievable. And achieving things feels good. And when you feel good, you keep going.

3. Celebrate the Wins

Seriously—celebrate.
Check it off. Tell a friend. Do a little dance. This rewires your brain to crave the consistency loop.

4. Get Support

Consistency is hard when life is messy (and let’s face it, it usually is). That’s where coaching can make a massive difference.
As a health coach, I help women set goals that actually fit into real life, create a plan that works for you, and—most importantly—stick with it. With support and accountability, you don’t have to white-knuckle it through every step.
